This was a big storm if I remember correctly, as I was only 11 years old. We sure had fun sledding down hills covered with ice. . Derek Jackson on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Two architectural HDR shots of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Douglasville, GA. Out of several views of the church that I captured this evening, the two that ended up being "keepers" are coincidentally opposite views, one looking in through the front door, the other looking out.
As is usual for me with HDR shots, these are composed of multiple Qtpfsgui outputs, blended in GIMP. 7-exposure series captured using CHDK. Scott Coulter on Flickr: Posted a Photo

The Georgia Western Cotton Mills in Douglasville, GA was built in the late 1890's by Charles A. M. Praray of Providence, Rhode Island.
Unusual triangular bays formed the exterior walls to allow more natural light into the mill and provide horizontal bracing. The windows were filled in with concrete blocks some time later. Praray built only five mills using his patented system, all located in the South.
Incidentally, this mill in Douglasville, GA is where my Grandfather met my Grandmother in the mid-1930's . . . He was a mechanic, and she was a seamstress . . . They were both teenagers, and were married for 63 years.
The mill has been abandoned since the mid-70's and is currently structurally unsafe.
It is located on Bankhead Highway in Douglasville, GA . . .

Saw this while waiting, when my sister was checking her son out of school, yesterday.
This really isn't a very good photo, but, I loved how the red leaves were peeking out from all that green. I also liked the dead tree sticking out of there.
